For example, if something cost .56, how would you say that? Would you say "Cuesta 34 pesos y 56 centavos"? or something different.

Thanks!

Is the knowledge of Spanish required to live and work in Barcelona, Spain? I speak fluent English and fluent French.
Yes I am serious. In some countries there are very solid expat communities that allow one's to live in the country without necessarily speak the local language. I do it all the time, and I work for English-speaking companies wherever I go.

I need a recipe i can make in Spanish class for a project. It has to be from Spain itself, or any other spanish speaking country. I don't have to make it from scratch in class, but i would need to put everything together. Tacos is an example... but it is far too easy and common.

for me i think they are hiding something or are scared to learn english

I would really like to speak spanish. What are some resources online that are for free?

are there any sites or anything that can teach me to speak english in a mexican accent? i really want to learn because its so funny.

I would like to learn the Spanish/ Castilian of Buenos Aires, Argentina, although, for many reasons, the Spanish of Mexico would be good to learn, too.

I have a language kit that purports to be of a "latin american dialect", but as this seems to cover such a vast territory, I have no idea what this means. Please advise & thank you.

Also, I have another similar, albiet slightly different, question going at the same time.

What is the difference? They would not have New Mexican Spanish books here in New Mexico if there wasn't a difference. If you answered before, please answer again, so that I may award the best answer. I had computer problems and the wrong answer was voted on by only 2 people total. I apologize for not having access to vote the correct answer at the time. I welcome new answers as well. Thanks for your time.

There's an episode in 3rd rock from the sun in which they speak bit of spanish when they start watching telemundo. Harry says something like "Es muy bueno" and then dick comes in and tells them that they have to go to this party and asks them what the language of ohio is. When they say it's English he proceeds to say that they should speak English then. That's as much as I can remember, thanks in advance.

I bought the Muzzy Spanish learning set and was VERY dissapointed. My kids liked watching it, but I didn't like the story line at all!! Has anyone else watched it and thought the same thing? I don't want my 3 and 4 yo to learn how to say "I hate him!" or "I hate work!" in Spanish. I don't even want them to learn to say that in English! And what's with the whole thing with Corvax kidnaping Silvia"s baby to raise her up to mary him? Anyone else find that disturbing? The only part I did like was the vocabulary builder. That was pretty cool!

My kids didn't like the games on the cd-rom at all, and they usually love playing computer games.

Is there anyone out there who has used something they loved and would pass it on? I would like it to be Latin American if possible. Thanks so much!!!!

Where can I learn to speak mexican? I would prefer not to cross the border.
Hehe...I like how you guys are taking this question seriously =)

I am 27 and speak only English. I have took two semesters of Elementary Spanish in college. My teacher was from Spain and the Spanish was so different that the FEW WORDS/VERBS I did retain I really cannot use.

I have the strongest desire EVER to learn Spanish and become bilingual. What are some tips? Is the Rosetta Stone software worth 0?!

Any help and/or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I am very afraid that I will not be able to learn it or retain anything :0(

I recently bought a computer program to learn spanish. It had a picture of a place in mexico on the back cover (with a mexican flag) so I thought it would have mexican dialect. No such luck. in the program the main character is on a trip to spain and the spainsh dialect is taught. (coche instead of carro "car")
Since I plan to go to mexico, and not spain, I was hoping someone knows of a company that makes a program that will teach mexican spanish and not spain's. Or even a computer program that allows you to pick the dialect you want to learn.

And for those of you that wonder the importance. just think of all the differences between american, british, and australian english.

Dear Journal

As a child I was very talkative, and energetic. I was the only child for a while so I always made new friends while at school or at the park. I always liked to play soccer, basketball, baseball and football, when me and my friends would go to the park. If it would rain or snow and we had to stay inside, we would often dance, sing or play school. Often me and my friends would get in to fights because I was so bossy. Now that im older im much more mature.

What are all of the countries in South America that speak spanish? Please also add the capitals of the countries.

We're going on vacation and I need help translating the following sentences. I tried using BabelFish but I am not sure how to order the words.

1) Can I please have 6 bottles of water. Thank You.

2) Can we have 5 new towels please. Thank you

3) We need more Kleenex/ Toilet Paper. Thank You

Please add anything else you can think of. Thanks!

I am from Australia and am planning a trip to Mexico and South America in a few years. I am wanting to learn a language but am unsure if Spanish or Latin American would be more beneficial. Any suggestions

I think it's a comedy, and he's laughing while he's speaking in Spanish. I don't remember what he's saying word for word. However, I do believe that he confesses that he doesn't speak the tongue. I don't know why I want to say it's one of the Zorro movies or maybe a movie with Brendan Fraser. I hope I provided enough details to jog a movie buff's memory. Thanks, everyone.

I am an old rancher on the Mexican border. My family has ranched here since 1908. I've been looking at some of these answers. 99% of these people don't have any idea what they are talking about.

These mexicans have changed. 50 years ago, they were all good people and I liked them. They lived with us and taught me spanish and many good ways and customs. They and us depended on each other and I made good friends with many of them. They worked hard and never stole from us. All of my good old mexican friends are dead now. I miss them.

Now, they are bad. I wouldn't give a nickel to any of them now. I don't know what happened. They are mean and bad. About 10 to 15 years ago they started stealing from us and got mean and don't want to be friendly any more.

Do you really know the new immigrants?

And of course, will I be able to understand those in all of Latin America? Also, will I be understood in Spain?

Ok so I really wanna learn how to speak Spanish but I want to learn it fast so me and a couple of my friends can talk to each other without people knowing what we are talking about. I am only 13 so I want to learn it an EASY way so can you help me?

Once again I need this for yet another story I'm writting, my doll characters like to talk like 'My stomach is growling' and, 'My throaght is dry' kinda thing. Its kinda od but I gotta make them a little different from the Humans.
Gratsia and Gracias.

I am preparing to do a spanish oral exam next month. I have been going to a spanish class for four years now and yet i am still not fluent. Plz give me a website where i can interact with real people so i could be able to write better letters, stories and speak in spanish.

I am working under a latin american (spanish) speaking supervisor. Instead of calling me by name, I am now being refered to the whetto?
Although I could care less what anyone chooses to call me, I'd still like to know what it means.

1. What's up?
2. How was your day?
3. I like this guy a lot
4. He's so hot
5. Get it!
6. I want a picture of you.
7. He's such an a-s-s
8. I don't like him anymore

lol. If your wondering why i said mexican spanish its because i'll learn something from my panamanian friend in spanish and say it to my mexican friend and she says it said another way.
so please help me out :)

I currently speak spanish and know the basics. I can carry a decent conversation but looking to learn to write it as well. Just wanna be as fluent in it as my english.

Someone just sent me a message through answers and it was in Spanish. All I could decipher was something about living in Texas.

Alls I know are dirty words, how to ask for food, and how to proposition someone for drugs.

Well, actually I'm already near fluent is Spanish, and I have been taught Latin American Spanish. I want to speak peninsular Spanish though because I plan to study a semester in Barcelona or Madrid. The only problem is that I am American, and if I decide to get a job in which I work with Spanish-speaking people, I want to speak more their language (though I realize that both dialects are mutually intelligible).
