One guy that i worked with heard me speakin spanish and he was shocked. Also at the gym i had people stare at me when i was speaking spanish. Why are Americans shocked when a white Latino speaks spanish?
So I have to take an object and paint it as the Mexican flag (emblem and all!) for a project. Anything that can be put up as a "decoration" which pretty much means anything.
I have decided to either learn to speak spanish fluently or learn American sign language. I can't do both so I have to choose one. Does anyone know if one is more marketable than the other. My goal from learning one of these languages is to make myself more marketable career wise.
I have a thing for this guy who doesn't speak very good English and my Spanish is poor so I'd like to share a song that will express my feelings with him. I really like him and am sad and frustrated that due to circumstances, we can't be together (he's being sent to prison). Anyway, could you please share some nice Mexican songs about lovers who are kept apart? A link with the lyrics would be awesome! Thanks!
Mexican United States is the official name of Mexico
Spanish is the official language in Mexican United States.
Is Mexico the largest Spanish speaking & Catholic country in the world?
Most of my other co-workers and I do not speak Spanish, so we often times have no idea what is being discussed. My non-Spanish speaking co-workers have told me they believe it's very rude when they do it, and I've been the only one to ask them to speak English when they're around non-Spanish speaking employees so we can understand. It happens pretty frequently, and it makes me and others feel alienated. Is there a state (California) or federal law regarding this issue?
I know that the meaning of being mexican is having part native indian haritage from aztec and spanish decent from spain So is it true that those with curls in their hair are more spanish than native indian?
Please translate these phrases into spanish. Must be fluent and/or a resident of one of those countries. You DON'T have to translate all of them. No american spanish 3 students or crap like that. 10 points for proper answer (i'm not completely spanish illiterate so don't put stupid cuss words and stuff like that. (Latin American/Mexican Spanish only) Any other quotes in spanish (w/ english translation would be nice too. Thanks!!
"Am I boring to talk to?"
"Is it wrong for something good to happen in my life?"
"I would tell her that I love her, but I'm afraid she wouldn't feel the same way..."
"Life isn't worth living if you live it by yourself"
"Sometimes it seems that people don't take relationships as serious as I do..."
"In a mad world only the mad are sane, so why would I care what you think?"
Since Samantha decided to go off in a Spanish rant (actually I can pick out about half the words you're saying, including the cussing), I will clarify. This is not for hw and this is not for my gf. This is for one of my friends whose gf just broke up with him and died in a car accident yesterday. That's why I was so strict about the rules and crap. Happy now?
I was just wondering how to put a native accent when you speak spanish .
Translate the Phrase "Mexican Boys" into spanish
Pop Art
Is a new artistic concept, is the essence of an extensive cultural movement of the sixties, it have a connection with the state of mind of a period that is a reply to the slogans of the Medias whose histories make history and whose models influence in the people.
The popular culture and the way of life linked closely in the sixties. This cultural demonstration is absolutely occidental; USA is the center of this program.
The pop art analyzes artistically the fact that the World has been growing by the capitalist and technological conditions of the industrial society. The beginnings of the Pop Art were in New York and in England.
The politic and economic stabilization in the postwar period lead to a “revaloracion” of something that in general is designed as popular.
The psychologists studied the society consume and created the marketing system to take a commercial advantage of the customers wishes. These getting closer to the consumers and buyers created products of consume demand and the programs of the media, this affected in the ways of the individual behavior and in the interpersonal relationship. Everyone could adore collecting knickknacks, reading comics, eating hot-dogs, drinking Coca-Cola, etc. In this is based Pop Art. The themes of Pop Art are based in everyday life, Pop Art captures the realities of a period and the cultural change, the predisposition of a new generation, and this culture transforms the style and the art.
In this period people fell free for expressing themselves in this Cultural Revolution. This lead to new modes and forms of expression tan it was almost ridiculous that the artists, critics and professors let the trivial culture surround them and cram their houses with popular and nostalgic art, with relics, bad taste objects and publicity symbols, playing with banality and enjoy reading comics, science fiction literature, cheap novels and the TV mania.
The music and the lyrics of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones translate in the sixties the state of mind, the euphoria, the nerve, the power and the realities of the youth people, that’s why artists like Peter Blake, Richard Hamilton and Andy Warhol designed disc jackets for musical groups like The Beatles and Velvet Underground of course using the Pop Art style.
The Pop Art is expressed in painting, sculpture, music, cinema, photography and literature.
The Pop Art paintings have many styles, for example some of them are based in comics, other are made by collage and painting combination, some of them are made in different levels. Most of the sculptures are based in thing that we normally see, like typing machine, cigarettes, clothing, toilets, or even tables.
My conclusion is that Pop art is an every day item that is drawn in brash and colorful way. It is inspires by comic strips, advertising, and popular entertainment. I like this kind of arte because I think that is an art that don’t follow all the rules and we can see the reality of our world.
thanks
I am going to give a lot of points

Bonjour, Mi nombe es Jacques
I need to come up with an activity that will last about an hour that my High School Spanish club can do about the Easter time of year that relates to how Mexico or Spain spends easter. It has to be school appropriate and not really religious.
because today i went to the store and this lady only talk spanish and the cashier was so mean to her and act like she did not know spanish.

I think people here should just speak English. That's not too much to ask. If they dont want to then they should leave. Im tired of feeling like a stranger in my own country.
I refuse to learn English! This is NOT England or Britain!
This is The West Wing! " Aztan " El Suroeste Estadounidense!
I am already bilingual but I want to learn Spanish as a third language. How long do you suppose it will take? And do you any good websites or cheap CD to learn Spanish from?
I was trying to sell this Mexican guy something. He told me no English. If he didn't want it all he had to say is no.
I'd like to know what they're saying when Spanish is spoken on the show. Why don't they put subtitles?
American is a melting pot -you are to melt into our culture. Not force us to become your culture. You are to follow our rules like we would if we went to your country. That means you should apply for citizenship , learn to read, write and speak english like my family did. Why should these mexican get off lightly when we did not. Check the rules of citizenship - they are not simple as to paying a fee.
Hey everyone.
I'm trying to get into learning Spanish and have come to a bit of a crossroads. For many products for language learning, there's two forms of Spanish. Latin American and Spain. What exactly are the differences? Like Rosetta Stone for instance. I can get Latin American, or Spain.
Is the difference just with pronunciation? If I were to learn Latin American Spanish, would I be able to go speak and read in Spain without any problems? I'm more interested in Spain, but I'm really curious as to what the differences are and if the differences are big enough to cause problems?
Thanks in advance!
OK, so 'you' is different. Is that all?
Also, why don't hispanics speak spanish with a lisp
I used to go to Tijuana, Mexicali and Tecate for nice food, and a relaxing experience looking around and meeting people. It has been nearly 20 years since I did this. Times have changed. I would like to visit some Mexican border towns once again, but would like to return in one piece without shootings, police extortion and the like. Any ideas? Current information, please... I speak good Spanish, and would like to hear from YOU!
Don't you have to learn the vocabulary before you learn the language? What is the best way to learn Spanish? Could a person learn spanish by just listening to Spanish without knowing what the words meant?
I know it's very difficult for an immigrant to live in Mexico - they cannot get any welfare even after become a citizen, they must speak Spanish fluently, there is no bi-lingual education provided and only professionals (no labor workers) can apply for citizenship and they can't buy properties in good areas such as near the ocean. So if someone were found to live in Mexico without having qualified for all of the above and gotten a citizenship, what would the Mexican gov do to them?
Hello All!
I am having a fiesta in my Spanish II class next week, and I have searched the internet up and down, and I cant seem to find anything that seems nice, simple, and can be served the next day, or cold.

why is it? 50 million of mexicans in a country with 300 million people, that's why they think that everybody is mexican?
if u can pronounce the r's and ae's properly NOBODY will think u are mexican.

Even though I don't speak it very well?
Or is it encouraging the illegal alien invasion of the US and the moral equivalent of being an arms dealer?
I am wanting to make a spice garden, so don't recomend any multipurpse seasonings in a jar (though it would be helpful untill the garden is planted.)
