I'm not being prejudice or anything at all like that but, when someone talks Spanish it sounds faster then English---why is that?
if u say this is not common ur full of bs because ive need through this my whole life and so have a number of light skinned non speaking mexicans who are basically "white boys". this is nothing new to me, a lot of the hardcore mexican men look down on non speaking mexicans..and me i look white anyways. ive been tease and treated like crap by them a lot of times... even about an hour ago... ive had friends who say the same thing happens to them regularly.. im not imaging things this is very real.. ive seen talk shows about ppl who feel exactly the same as me... dont deny it...
it sucks but what can i do? freaking mexicans...

There are so many other people that speak other languages here, and the language of America is english. It seems as if most others learn or try to learn the language.
My aunt was at the laundry matt today and a mexican woman walked up to the dryer my aunt was using, puts up to it and starts chanting something in spanish.
Any idea wtf she was doing ? ;\
mexican women seem to really judge "gringas" and they don't smile a lot or try to introduce themselves. i try to be nice and friendly, but i feel like they just don't want to know me, and i feel like they are really unfriendly to me. they also ask a lot of very judgemental questions like "i know you don't know how to cook, but can you buy some cookies for the school bake sale?" or "i am really surprised that you won't let your daughter date. i thought that all americans were very easy with sex"
what can i do to help people get to know me and accept me?
When they like me more lather than speak Spanish to them, or it is wont, it will be just waisting. Speak English is fine. It will be the same?
I mean I could pass for Mexican. Can I join?

My one year old has been with spanish speaking babysitter since 4 months old and understands both English and Spanish commands but says nothing in either language. I wondering what to expect in regards to her language development?
My brother in law who is half Mexican and speaks spanish says they use a lot of W's. What else do they sound like?

I work as a supervisor for a company who has at&t as a client and we as supervisors were told by our mangers that AT&T our client doesn't want spanish on the call floor. So now everytime we hear spanish we have to call them out on the spot and remind them "english only" can I get in trouble for listening to my boss?
At school, in the workplace, etc. Does it bother anyone else?
Your boyfriend speaks very little english by his own choice, huh? He should be deported. If he loves his own third world squalor he should go live in it. But anyway, my question wasn't about people learning spanish. It was 'do you find their spanish irritating?'
Theres a differnece, babiigurl, you little idiot. We live in an english speaking nation. And If I did them a favor by going to mexico, they better be damned happy to get my cash at the cantina.
You get Mexicans who've been in the US for several generations, do they still speak Spanish? Many are in Mexico. People like Robert Rodriguez and Eva Longoria have roots in the US for ages, do they still speak Spanish??
Why do Mexicans not lose their language, while all the Germans, Irish, Italians etc cannot speak those languages in the US?
I've heard that they speak french creole...is it at all common to speak full spanish?
I would appreciate an authentic mexican recipe and by the way I can't speak spanish.
Thanks a Bunch!!!
HI guys. I am from the USA and I love to travel and I really want to be able to speak Spanish just as good as I do english with the slang and all. I do everything I can to expose myself to spanish, such as watch spanish tv, and talk to spanish people, and even take classes in school. Are there any other ways I could speed this up? that a teenager could do? Maybe you guys know of some good music that I could listen to that is in Spanish or something. Anything that will help I will try it.
Like, the rich spanish people who own big homes in gated neighborhoods and drive expensive vehicle, what type of spanish to they speak?
Then, what type of spanish do the poor spanish people speak (the ones that don't live in the expensive gated communities)?
To the answered with screen name "?", that was a good answer.
I know they are two different countries. Spain conquered Mexico in 1561 or something and Spain is Europe and Mexican culture is American. But, like is there a difference in the foods, culture, people, dialects of language, and traditions?
I know in Mexican Culture, there's the evil eye and quinceaneras? What about Spanish?
Then if Mexicans answer them back, they cry anti-semitism!
They pretend to make us believe we mexicans, are still Aztecs who speak nahuatl.
They think we Mexicanos are Native Americans, and they try to label us as Browns. According to them Hitler was the devil and Ariel Sharon is a hero.
