Do you agree that Mexico extends into the US because of all the Mexican people here?

President Felipe Calderon, today blasted our deportations and said "Mexico does not end at its borders." And speaking to Mexicans in the US many of them here illegally he told them "Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico."

That sounds pretty imperialistic to me. What would happen if we sent millions of Americans to another country and said that the US extends into your country?

I read the article in the news and Calderon is absolutely crazy! He is of course trying to appeal to his own people and to the illegal Mexicans in the USA. It is in the best interest of Mexico for their poorest people to live in the USA and send US$ back to Mexico. He should really be ashamed of himself for not, instead, promoting what Mexico should be doing in order to lure its citizens back to Mexico and keep them there so they do not feel the need to go elsewhere to make a living.

  2. Tin Man Says:

He needs to go back to school. We and the rest of the world are very clear on where Mexico begins and ends.

  3. Lori K Says:

Yes…Calderon is simply making the electorate in America angrier and angrier. It may be politically popular in Mexico, but it’s not very intelligent. I hope he keeps on running his mouth. The more he talks, the more Americans start yelling at their own elected officials.

  4. The Minuteman Says:

Calderon should be taken out and shot by the CIA!!

  5. paul r Says:

no, what he said sounds great. by that measure, we now own mexico, guatemala and all of those other half pint countries south of spicland. if someone disuputes that, lets point to the declaration of the head mexican himself and roll on.

  6. cheyenne_Z Says:

    No.
I would agree that Calderon is delusional, and desperate.
He has no control over what the United States does.

He should really be more concerned about taking care of his people in Mexico, so more can stay in their own homeland.

If he had any sense he would be working to make Mexico a better place by promoting a national zero population growth policy, through promoting family planning, birth control, and free abortions for all poor Mexican women.

it feels like mexico to me.

  8. Captain Says:

That statement was wrong and everybody in America should hear about that statement. It portrays the thoughts of everybody living here illegally from Mexico. Laws do not matter to them. They do whatever they want and have no respect for laws especially laws of other nations.
I wonder how the government would respond if there were 20 million people from terrorist training camps living here, doing jobs that "nobody" wants to do. Double standard, it’s ok for Mexico to walk on the USA but not for anybody else. I don’t agree with it and nobody in the USA does.

  9. DAR Says:

No, but we could say that wherever there is an American, there is America, meaning we carry it in our hearts. Unfortunately when they were never invited in the first place, it doesn’t help the situation for him to say that.

However, he has trouble at home, and that was aimed for a domestic audiance.

  10. SIMPLYINLOWELL Says:

You have got to understand his point of view. He and the country of Mexico, can’t support the illegals in this country back home. So he is all for them being here, so they can send money(US currency) back to help keep his economy running. It is that simple. If an illegal can send money back to feed their family, he won’t have too feed them. It makes him look good in the eyes of his misguided people.

  11. kay j Says:

Well they wouldn’t care b/c Americans have money. The Mexican president could give a hoot about his people. The man is a drug lord, allowing his country to suffer while he gets richer.

  12. babyquestion24 Says:

Well then, let’s just throw all the maps in the trash.

  13. king Banks of USA Says:

    President Felipe Calderon is silly….
The Mexican-American War settle that debate where Mexico ends and United States of America begins!!!

  14. FatPizza Says:

I hope this gets so out of control that we no longer consider Mexico a friendly nation. Then they will come crawling and crying and begging for our help. Oh, wait. They already do that. I guess we are the dumb as*es for putting up with it. I’m sick of our politicians.

  15. John S Says:

You know, that’s what we get for letting them come in illegally for so long. Now they feel entitled. They feel they own the USA. We MUST start deporting them and we MUST build the fence.

  16. Suze Says:

The USA is in Denial. What’s worse, is the Illegal Mexicans are in denial.

Felipe Calderon’s message really means he’s happy Mexico is free of the 12-30 million Illegals who are already in USA. His job is to insure they NEVER come back! How else is he going to keep the Illegals from returning to Mexico? He must appeal to Illegals by claiming USA belongs to them.

Only US Dollar$ are welcome in Mexico.

They are everywhere and think the world belongs to them. They invade, destroy, corrup everything.
They even like to call themselves wrongly Americans . (if you don’t remember :America is a continent. )
don’t play the game of being victimized.

  20. troll_under_a_bridge Says:

    Calderon is a pimp.

  21. Bibs Says:

Calderon is playing politics with the Mexican electorate. He is playing to the anti-Gringo faction in his country.

  22. frosty62 Says:

I think He’s the perfect example of why Mexico is so messed up. This man is expected to lead a country, and he makes a uneducated statement like that. His stupidity know’s no bounds.

  23. Philip Says:

What is the matter with North American Anglophones? They are terrified of the Spanish language! Do they not realise that Spanish has been spoken far longer in North America than English? Why is it nearly half of the present-day U.S. has states with Spanish names? Perhaps a difficult question for Anglophones?

In Britain we have 3 official languages, i.e. English, Welsh and Scots Gaelic plus t.v. and radio programmes in those languages.

    Philip, England.
