They are terrified of the Spanish language! Do they not realise that Spanish has been spoken far longer in North America than English? Why is it nearly half of the present-day U.S. has states with Spanish names? Perhaps a difficult question for Anglophones? He is of course trying to appeal to his own people and to the illegal Mexicans in the USA. It is in the best interest of Mexico for their poorest people to live in the USA and send US$ back to Mexico. He should really be ashamed of himself for not, instead, promoting what Mexico should be doing in order to lure its citizens back to Mexico and keep them there so they do not feel the need to go elsewhere to make a living.
