The Spanish grammar is very consistent so it really doesn't matter which you start learning. The most important point I'd like to make is the different word and verb form used for the pronoun YOU in the plural. Spain uses Vosotros and in Latin America Ustedes is the form used. Then, there's the pronunciation. But now just go ahead and try these websites and you'll have plenty to keep you busy for some time. Then, if you have any questions, you can always post them here.

When I was in a very similar situation to the 1 that you find yourself in now, I followed a self taught course of action. I purchased several books, including "1001 Spanish Verbs Conjugated", A Spanish English dictionary, A book designed to be a textbook in a beginning Spanish class, and a Libro de sinominos (like a Thesaurus). However the MOST important tools I had were the daily contact with native speakers, AND fearlesness. You must try to say things and not be afraid when you get them wrong. You WILL get them wrong, but that's how to learn. Also try http://world.altavista.com/ (Babel Fish) for some pretty decent translations.

I would suggest using "1001 Spanish Verbs Conjugated" (verbs are already conjugated, i.e no mistakes) , A Spanish English (Latin American) dictionary, watch Spanish TV channels and start talking. Talking with Spanish speaking kids is the best as your fear of making mistakes will diminish plus they will point out what is wrong in your sentences. Adults tend to be shy in pointing out your mistakes.

Try http://www.spanishpod101.com . I think you'll find it refreshingly different.

Its main products are daily mp3 lessons. They are free. There are some other products which you need to pay for, but you can try them for 7 days before you decide to buy them. Even if you don't, they are still free.

Good luck!

http://www.onlinespanishhelp.com is one of the best sites I've come across. It has a lot of games and interactivity. Also, the more social http://learnspanish.spanishdict.com/ is pretty good because you can actually interact with people.
