    Puerto Rican Spanish has influences of English as they are a US Commonwealth & is more Caribbean-influenced while Mexican Spanish is derived from the Castilian dialect along w/ commentary from the different states (ie-Jalisco, Nuevo Leon, Durango, etc.)

    There are significant differences in pronounciation and vocabulary, and the cultures are quite different as well. This has a big influence on the spoken language.

    Different slang words and alternate meanings. Any Spanish speaker could roughly understand what they’re saying, though. Compare American English to British English, or Australian English. Same difference.
