I believe that the main difference relays on the "melody" of the speakers.
The spanish language from Spain sounds a little more serious or quiet than the central american spanish. Also, most of the differents countries in Latin America had native languages which influded in the way of pronouncing the language.
One of the biggest differences you could tell is that pepole from Spain pronounce "z" and "c" (c before "e" and "i") with the sound of the greek letter θ. In Latin America people pronounce both of them like "s".
Besides, each country has an influence according to the immigration they had. Argentina has strong influences from Italian, German or native languages according to the province you go to and a special form of pronouncing "y" (it sounds like "sh").
The spanish from Chile has a strong influence from German, in Paraguay from Guaraní (a native language), and each country has its own.
Hope it helps you, any questions send me an e-mail to hrtaber@hotmail.com.
not everyone speaks in the same in latin america….mexico is more like spanish of spain….but generally latin america they dont use vosotros (plural of you in english) they use ustedes instead…but thats general i think in argentina they use vosotros. they accent is a huge difference…people in spain talk with a lisp (speach impediment). theres other differences like words and such.
Hi!!!
I’ve gotten the same question but in English from USA and British english!
It’s the same, but know in spanish language like: the accent, some words means other things or they use other kind of words like:
Spain (ordenador)–>> computer
Mexico (computadora) –>> computer
You just think it like the difference between the british english and the american.
Have a nice day ♪♫►
I´m mexican girl ☺
Hi!
The pronuntiation of the letters "C","Z" and "S"
Also in Spain use vosotros, in all Latin American not, only in Argentina and a part of Colombia use vos but not the plural vosotros
And many regionalisms too vale, tío, tía, etc…
=)
Bye!
there´s no latin american Spanish, you have a lot of accents in latin america, even inside the countries
Castellano in Spain is different from the Castellano in Argentina and other countries. The difference is with the C and Z sound. In Spain, expecially in Andalucia and Catalan, the natives usually pronounce hacer like "hather" with a th sound with their C’s and Z’s.
In Argentina, the LL and Y is pronounced with a "shh" sound so the verb to rain in spanish is llover. Argentinians would pronounce it shover or (sho-vair) in an English pronounciation
Computer whiz don’t forget h is silent, and thank you for say castellano or castilian!
