Today my boss told me that one of the fellow employees did not want us (me and 1 other Hispanic employee) speaking Spanish at work anymore.
So he came in the office and caught me speaking Spanish, he then yelled in from of everyone that I work with "No More Speaking Spanish!" "people who don't understand think you are talking crap on them!"
Is this legal? In California?

Is there anything I can do?

Do I have any rights here?

well maybe not mexican american women, but im talking about the ones who don't speak english very well? They seem to be rude to other women out in public and never say exuse me...they laugh and make jokes all the time.
they always pick on the older white lady at my job and tell her what to do all the time why is it that the mexican american women can be nice but the ones who are illegal that come over here are rude like the mexican men? I don't think they were taught how to be nice to others!

if u say this is not common ur full of bs because ive need through this my whole life and so have a number of light skinned non speaking mexicans who are basically "white boys". this is nothing new to me, a lot of the hardcore mexican men look down on non speaking mexicans..and me i look white anyways. ive been tease and treated like crap by them a lot of times... even about an hour ago... ive had friends who say the same thing happens to them regularly.. im not imaging things this is very real.. ive seen talk shows about ppl who feel exactly the same as me... dont deny it...

I have been studying Spanish on my own for about three years now. I even do volunteer work at an organization that helps hispanic residents prepare for their citizenship exams and I lead a class in Spanish. But still, I just continue to stumble over words, use the wrong words, screw up grammar tenses and so on. I think that they understand me for the most part, but I am afraid that my Spanish just sounds like crap. How can I stop making so many errors?

Please translate these phrases into spanish. Must be fluent and/or a resident of one of those countries. You DON'T have to translate all of them. No american spanish 3 students or crap like that. 10 points for proper answer (i'm not completely spanish illiterate so don't put stupid cuss words and stuff like that. Since Samantha decided to go off in a Spanish rant (actually I can pick out about half the words you're saying, including the cussing), I will clarify. This is not for hw and this is not for my gf. This is for one of my friends whose gf just broke up with him and died in a car accident yesterday. That's why I was so strict about the rules and crap. Happy now?

Obviously they used to speak Latin, hence the name of their country, but what prompted the change to Spanish? My friend Oscar said he thinks it was because the people were having too hard a time doing math with Roman numerals. This kinda makes sense, because I can't even tell what year some movies and TV shows were made when they show the date with those letters. I can't even imagine trying to ADD letters or mutliply them and stuff.

Plus, Oscar is usually kinda full of crap, so I don't trust him on this.

all the bands i've listened to in spanish are more alternative and poppy and punk and that's just crap.

I always use the term mexican-american for myself because I can't just say mexican because I'm not from Mexico. I can't say just American because in everyones eyes that means Anglo. I am a 5th gen. American on my mothers side and on my fathers side we can trace back 8 gen. here in Cali, back to the Mexican-American war days. Everyday I get people talking to me in spanish and when I say I don't speak spanish they are all surprised and ask a bunch of questions like "why don't you speak spanish"? and other stupid questions. They act like they are so amazed! Some think I don't speak it because I don't like it. It's annoying sometimes-they are so ignorant. If I knew it I would speak it but I don't and if I wanted to right now I'm sure I could take classes and learn but it's not a main focus in my life right now. Some will say - You turned your back on your culture and crap but I'm proud to be chicano and know my history. Why is it only hispanics who make a big deal of his. Other races don't

Whats the difference between these different sports? Is it all the same crap poverty sport that involves kicking a ball into a net for a goal? Whats the differences between football or soccer played all all the different countries?
