My Dad told me and my brothers to talk English to people from Mexico in Restaurants or stores, im a 21 year old Mexican-American in San Antonio Texas, My family says if they speak spanish to you , speak in English to them, they tell me this isnt a foreign country,

I am Mexican-American and I know both Spanish and English fluently.
I am going towards medicine and would ike to learn another language.
I have been considering these three: Italian, Portuguese, French
I do not know which one to choose.
Portuguese is most similar to Spanish in lexico but Italian is similar in pronunciation.
French is most known but more difficult.
I am stuck in a dilemma, pllease help! I will give lots of points to anyone that can help me.

I heard Obama is a Muslim and that means he is not from America? If he is a Muslim what country is he from and can he still be the president of america. I heard in church that he might be a terrorist from Iraq where we are having a war for christ our sawvior and redeemer. Is Obama like pontios pilot? Can Christians get reparations because of all the wellfare checks we are giving to muslims and they come from mexico and have babies and make regular people speak mexican american?

I am a Third Generation Mexican American and although some people in my family speak Spanish as in my relatives and grandparents, I speak English and I consider myself american but why is it that people say I am not an american and a Mexican even though I was born in the United States and I am a legal citizen. Also, I would like to know your opinions. Am I American Or Mexican?

First of all calling myself mexican american is a stretch. Yes my ancestors came from south of the border but I have never thought of myself as anything but american. I DON'T SPEAK SPANISH!!! I get asked this on a daily basis and it really gets on my nerves. It's as if people just expect because i have a year around tan i have to know spanish. I live in america speak english!!!! does anyone else feel this way?

Spanish is my second language, but I'm pretty much fluent since I used to live in Chile...the thing is, I understand Spanish when Mexicans from Mexico speak it, but for some reason it's difficult for me to understand Mexican American's when they speak Spanish.
This is stupid, but I'm serious...I'm wondering why this might be.
Thanks ^^
