A Mexican restaurant without mexican culture is not really mexican. So let's say, as many Americans want, that all mexicans assimillated into English and american culture. Then there's no mexican food anymore. It's just copy cat plastic tacos.. No mexican music, no mexican people speaking spanish .. Kind of like TACOBELL.

Tacobell is not mexican at all. although tacos are a mexican thing. But taco bell doesn't have any of that mexican flavor.

i live with my mexican boyfriend and i am going 2 have his child. i need 2 know how 2 cook mexican food. we r going 2 be living on our own soon, away from his mom. she will not be there 2 help me out. i can not speak spanish at all.

several eh?
Mexican weather means climate in Mexico, or Weather in Mexico.
Mexican food means Food wirthout being processed with hormons, and esteroids like all the meat in Mac Donald's.

How do i say "Mexican food is delicious" in Spanish? Is "La comida Mexicano es delicioso" correct? I'm not sure is "es" is correct...

I went to a Mexican restaurant
It is owned by Mexicans, they serve Mexican food and the waiters even speak Spanish.
The restaurant atmosphere is also very similar to Mexico
However when I pay the Bill they refuse to accept Mexican currency.
Why did they do this?
Can they be sued? If so, under what law?

Of course I use the term "authentic" cautiously here. I'm speaking of the Mexican restaurants in America (you know, the ones that are always "El Something"), which I'm hopelessly addicted to.

What's the secret to their cooking? When I make burritos at home they don't even come close. By comparison everything I make is very... Dry? For lack of a better term. The ground beef is in large chunks and not as moist, there are no good sauces integrated into the dish, the tortilla is dry. Pretty much everything I cook ends up tasting like a taco kit without the taco kit.

I would love to be able to cook Mexican food as you get it in the restaurants. Moist meat, lots of sauce, lots of intermingling of the ingredients and flavors. How do you do it? Do I need to boil the meat? Drench everything in special sauces? I'm all ears here.

How do both Spanish and Mexican food differ from each other? How are they similar? How have each impacted the other?

There's a Spanish party for class tomorrow and I need to prepare an authentic Spanish/Mexican food that can be served cold. Please help me. Thanks (:

If so, do you feel other mexicans give you attitude or look down at your for not know spanish or being into the latino culture a lot?

I'm mexican and I don't know spanish and neither does anyone in my family. We have been in this country for over 3 or 4 generations now so we are assimilated as you can get. We don't celebrate mexican heritage or culture and don't eat or like mexican food anymore than other types of food. I'm 1/2 mexican, 1/2 filipino but look 100% mexican and many other mexicans always assume I speak spanish and when they find out I dont I get some sort of dirty look or attitude it seems like more times than not. I didn't grow up around other mexicans b/c i lived in a predominantly white upper middle class suburb. I was just wondering if there are other mexicans or latinos out there that don't speak the language, are not into the culture, and are basically "white washed" as some have said like me. And how do you feel about it?
Also I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area and currently live in San Diego so I come into contact with a lot of mexicans straight out of Mexico litterally. And when I do occasionally venture south to Mexico I feel a similar response from people there.
I definately consider myself american b/c I don't identify with mexican culture at all but it's like i'm stuck in between the two. Some white people, not the majority or that many, make assumptions about me and where I'm from b/c how I look. Then on the other hand Mexican's do the same. So to some white people I'm not that american b/c my skin color and to some mexicans I'm not mexican b/c the way i act.
Also this isn't a problem I have all the time or even that often, but when it does occur it just bugs the hell out of me.

Anyone have a good website or know some good recipes for some good spanish/mexican food? Something with chicken would be great! What about some burritos!?!
