My wife and I have been wanting to teach our daughter Italian and spanish. I am originally from Italy but my family moved to America when I was 7 years old. My wife has lived here in America all her life and she is part Italian on her dad's side and part Cuban on her mom's side. Because culture is so important to us we want to teach our daughter to speak Italian and Spanish. She is only 2 years old right now. Is that a good age for her to start learning? And does anyone have any ideas how we can teach her these languages?
Ok im mixed moms Mexican and dad American. I speak a little and understand everything prefect but when i was younger my dad told my mom to stop speaking spanish to us. It was sad
But when i go to Mexico people look at me badly because i dont speak Spanish and im Mexican
What do you think?
Everyone in my family knows English so we speak it the most & my mom whose Mexican speaks it sometimes to us & I'll say "Can you say that in English?"
I read somewhere that his dad was mexican and his mom is black. However, his dad died when Cudi was young. Do you think his dad ever tought him spanish? And if he did, can he still speak it or understand it?
Like if the job description says that you have to speak spanish but you can't speak spanish, is that considered racist?
I think it is because I'm in America and in America, we speak English.
My mom doesn't think so because it is part of the job description.
Thanks!
i live with my mexican boyfriend and i am going 2 have his child. i need 2 know how 2 cook mexican food. we r going 2 be living on our own soon, away from his mom. she will not be there 2 help me out. i can not speak spanish at all.

I absolutely love both of my astounding parents - mom who is white and father who is one hundred percent mexican. I'd say from a personal standpoint, I look 75% mexican and 25% white but usually, people assume that I am full mexican at first glance. However, I dont speak spanish! While I never really feel embarassed or rebuked at times when people/friends say: "What! no habla espanol?", I really would like to become very fluent at one point time or another, at least before I graduate from UC Irvine. Im 18 now, and I've taken quite a few spanish classes but it just seems that the workload from other classes always tends to outdo the actual learning aspect of spanish - in other words, I usually find myself studying just for the grade itself, rather than learning the language in its completeness (again, due to the workload of other classes). I really would like to study spanish during the summer/winter, when classes aren't so darn harsh. Are there any programs that you guys recommend?
Well my family is chinese but in that dream, my dad was on his cell phone speaking Spanish while me and my mom was speaking chinese. That's just the specific detail I remember, the rest of the dream I forgot. What could it mean?
I am 75% mexican although I consider myself full...My mother is half mexican an half white she does not speak spanish (That's the reason why) My dad's family all speaks spanish (I don't live with him) And my grandma (Mom's side) Speaks spanish...But I have a white accent but I can understand some words..My boyfriend speaks Spanish and so does his family. None of them really speak english good except his brother and sisters and himself. I really wanna learn so I can speak with my other family members and his family...Spanish seems very hard for me I feel stupid when I try to speak it. Please help?? I don't have very much money...so what can help me?
My email is Angelcindy96@yahoo.com if you wanna contact me (:
Ok well I'm Puertorican and I was on Omegle the other day and every time I said "hey do you speak Spanish" people freaked and started calling me Mexican and that I should get out of the states because I'm stealing jobs. This is not the first time it has happened when I'm walking in the street I just ask my mom for something in Spanish and people start screaming at us calling us illegal and other stuff I cant say in here.
"Only an American would fault you for speaking another language" ...i never said that, no im not making this up and im from Chicago
I've been looking at college applications and im not sure what race i need to put down. My dad is Spanish, Mexican, Native American, and a few others things that are of white background. My mom also has Native American in her. My last name is Spanish but our culture has nothing Spanish in it.
Im confused on what is the correct term for me.
