I don't have any relatives or friends who are fluent and I don't have time to take classes.

I finish graduate school next year and I will be working as a healthcare professional. I would like to be able to speak fluently enough to ask basic questions to obtain background information and symptoms.

I am a Third Generation Mexican American and although some people in my family speak Spanish as in my relatives and grandparents, I speak English and I consider myself american but why is it that people say I am not an american and a Mexican even though I was born in the United States and I am a legal citizen. I know of so many bi-lingual Latin/Hispanic folks in Cleveland. They speak with their older immigrant relatives who knew Spanish as their birth language. The older ones know English as a second language.

I am tryign to speak english at home but my parents and relatives say we must speak spanish. I tell them that we are in america and that we need to learn the language but they just laugh and say no. My brothers and sisters don't speak good english becuase of my lazy parents. I know americans are tired of us being lazy for not learning the langauge, how can I help?
