Spanish is my second language, but I would consider myself fluent (Spanish major, spent a year in Costa Rica studying abroad, girlfriend is a native speaker).
I know my potential to get a job will increase, but would my salary increase as well?

When traveling in Mexico, I smile when I meet a Mexican National with perfect non-accented English. In contrast, I still meet American-born Hispanics with heavy Spanish accents. Someone told me that learning English at an early age (even as a second language) breaks that accent carryover. Is that true?

Spanish is my second language, but I'm pretty much fluent since I used to live in Chile...the thing is, I understand Spanish when Mexicans from Mexico speak it, but for some reason it's difficult for me to understand Mexican American's when they speak Spanish.
This is stupid, but I'm serious...I'm wondering why this might be.
Thanks ^^
