What percentage of Mexicans speak of “reconquering” the Southwest?
History of the Southwest:
12000-15000 years occupation by migrants from Asia & also
Europe.
50-100 years partial occupation by Spanish with natives.
30 years indirect control by Mexicans, many natives dead from diseases & conflict.
160 years occupation by Americans.

Spain flagged it, not Mexico, and I don’t hear much coming from Spain.
I’ve got an idea:
1) pick a location at random (anywhere in the world)
2) look back in history to see who may have lived there in the past
3) lobby the rest of the world to "give it back"
4) gripe about how no one takes you seriously and everyone is racist

Many, if not most, speak of it. But in reality, it would just be a "land grab" if americans are not present to provide the economic wind fall they seek.

In the Mexican-American War, America actually conquered all of Mexico. So how many Americans talk about taking back what they fought for and won? None, why? Because it is a none issue. That is like asking how many Italians talk about taking France and Spain back, after all it was roman territory. It is a silly question. The territory you speak of (southern California, New Mexico, Arizona) are part of the US and have been for a long enough time to not argue over the rightful possessors. As you yourself say, the Mexicans only had it for a brief period in comparison to all the others.
