Spain speaks Castilian which is spain spanish and the rest of the latin america speak latin american spanish. The languages are really close besides so small words and Castilian uses vosotros (you plural) but latin american doesn’t. If you want to go to mexico learn latin american in you want to go to spain learn spain spanish but they’re both going to understand you for the most part.
there`s no Latin American Spanish, we have different dialects, i´m from Argentina and i can talk with someone from Mexico but we have a far different accent, use different slang and something called "voseo" which changes the grammar (podes/puedes vos/tú), the Spanish from Spain is only spoken there and i think also in Equatorial Guinea Africa. Learn the one from Mexico, that´s what most people understand cause it uses "ustedes" (you all) which is used throughout Latin American instead of "vosotros", we can all understand the Spanish from Spain here but you will probably get confused unless you´re pretty fluent.
the way to pronounce it, it’s different!
for example!
The people from spain speak a pure language!, you should learn spanish from spain!, you’ll be more prepared.

I am in the middle of the Latin American version of Rosetta Stone. It’s a great way to learn a language! I chose the Latin American version because I thought I’d be more likely to go to a Latin American country than Spain. Also, I am assuming the Mexican people in our country speak the Latin American version. However, my children are learning along with me and I am hoping that it will help them in school but the school teaches the Spain version so my kids are a bit confused. Also, when you Google translations, they seem to give you the Spain version which is confusing.
