U can’t say "im portuguese/spaniard etc and im white so all portuguese/spaniard etc are white". Maybe you’re just only one rare exception. There are white people in all places afterall.
In usa or u are mexican/ brown/latin european or u are chinese or u are black/african or u are european/white (europeans except latin europeans).
No American would honestly think a green eyed, light skinned person is a mexican. I mean there are a few exceptions, but the average American, no.

As you can see by my photo, i am Portuguese and i’m white, maybe more white than her, in fact, the Spaniards have much more arab blood than us, the moors had more influence in Spain and their country is full of mosques. In Portugal there is only a couple, and only in Lisbon.
See, people confuse you with us, because that is the american stereotype, that people from these countries have all tanned skin, dark eyes and hair, but that can’t be further from the truth.

Because to people who haven’t been around people of your kind your look is foreign to them so they group you up with people who look similar. It’s only through time around these people that others can notice differences. It’s like with east asians and how unless you have spent enough time in east asia you won’t be able to tell the difference.

If people mistake you for Mexican is because you have Amerindian features and dark skin (which I doubt). But it’s normal people mistake you for Spanish since many of us look like Italians.

You are pretty idiot my friend or may be it is only a matter of bad education or may be both!. First of all spaniards dont have almost any “arab blood” in them at all, that is a myth with no rational grounds.
Genetic studies clearly say that the moorish or arab admixture in Spain is very much negligible (about 2% of spaniards) and this result perfectly matches with the historical facts: the arabs/moors were a very reduced minority elite within the spanish population stream and they didnt intermarry frequently due to cultural and religious reasons. Besides they were finally expulsed to north Africa together with the jews.
Now it happens that the highest ammount of black admixture in Europe is found in PORTUGAL due to her colonial past, and more specifically in the algarve region, where about 10% of the population is mulatto and has a subsaharan admixture.
So my portuguese friend, stop liying about Spain and Spaniards and go visit a psychiatryst that could treat that gigantic inferiority complex you exhibit as many other portuguese do with regard to Spain!.

Look, many peoples have ruled over other peoples for many years without leaving any genetic legacy or imprint: Spaniards ruled many centuries over the Philippines and even gave them spanish names and surnames, but almost NOBODY there has genetically NOTHING to do with spaniards.
Another example: British ruled over India for many centuries but almost nobody there has genetically NOTHING to do with british, and many many other examples exist…
