Yes there is a difference. The browning gives it a slightly nutty taste, making a more flavorful rice.
well white rice to me is better there’s orange looking mexican rice it’s not as good
Snacky is correct. Browning the rice gives the final dish more flavor than if you don’t toast it. I always toast it a few minutes first and it comes out great.

browning the rice hads a nice nuttiness to the flavour of the dish but also helps keep the rice seperate and not clump together
