Would Spanish-speaking people be insulted if I attempted to speak in Spanish to them?
I work at a Dunkin Donuts, and many of my customers are hispanic, and some know little to no english. I feel that it would make things easier if I attempted to speak to them in the barely-conversational spanish that I know from the classes that I took up to my junior year of high school.
So from a native speaker point of view, if someone who didn't know Spanish that well, but tried to speak Spanish to you, would you take this as insulting?

they may look confused if u didn’t pronounce the words right or may have a chance that u would say a curse word but try its alright. And take classes or online courses if your serious about spanish
No, why would they find it insulting? They wouldn’t laugh or anything. Latin-Americans aren’t protective of the Spanish (Castillan) language like the Spanish (Spain) are.
I wouldn’t bother though, you are probably helping them improve their English .
well there is some rude ppl out there
but i think its cool if you give it a shot..
they might look a little confused at the start
i guess it depends on how much u kno
buena suerte! (good luck)
no dont attempt, it may confuse them more or even offend them so just try to understand, maybe point to things and slow your english words down.
Not at all, but speak with respect. It is always acceptable that when a person is not a native of that area and trying to communicate with them by using their own language, the gesture its not insulting. Learning other languages is a noble task.
