What are the similarities between Mexican and Spanish foods?

  1. wow….big difference. HUGE difference. They are nothing alike.
Mexican food is based on beans, corn, and chiles, and every region has their specialties…salsas, soups, coastal towns have lots of fish…tropical fruit and parts of the cactus also play a big part. They pride themselves on their beer and tequila. Their tortillas are flat pieces of corn masa.

Spanish food has a very old heritage that blends european tastes with local staples and mediterranean influence. They pride themselves on their wine. What they call a tortilla is an omelet usually made with potatoes and onions.

    Two completely different worlds.
Kind of like asking what the difference is between American food and Irish food.
